In the last few matches, India’s ace golfer Anirban Lahiri had his set of roadblocks on the greens. But that hasn’t stopped the 30-year-old golfer from pursuing excellence and exercising his dexterous golfing skills at the big league championships and tournaments.

Anirban Lahiri has set his sights on 2017 PGA championship

After a disappointing run at The British Open and The RBC Canadian Open, Anirban Lahiri hopes to deliver better at the forthcoming 2017 PGA Championship that kicks off on August 10 at the Quail Hollow Club.

As Lahiri looks to make his impact at the upcoming 2017 PGA Championship, we delve deeper and bring you some interesting nuggets about him:

  • In 2015 at the PGA Championship, the ace golfer had finished tied fifth, becoming India’s best ever performer at a major golf championship.
  • Lahiri’s association with the Quail Hollow club is not new and his experience has indeed been a positive one. In the first competitive round he ever played at the Wells Fargo Championship, he shot a spectacular 66 to trail American co-leaders Steve Wheatcroft and Andrew Loupe by a stroke.  He had six birdies and no bogeys on a British Open sort of day at Quail Hollow Club, where the rain and the wind even got to players like defending champion Rory McIlroy.
  • Lahiri believes in constantly upping the fitness quotient. The golfer is a fitness freak and practices Vipassana meditation three to four times a week.
