Stupendous successes make for great underdog sporting stories and when these are achieved on consecutive days, it calls for a celebration. The string of successes in recent times in Indian Golf is a solid testament that it’s destined on a much higher growth trajectory.

We give you a ringside view of the ace Golfers who helped Indian Golf touch a new high recently:

India’s Golfing sensation Aditi Ashok is on a roll. She recorded her best-ever finish in a Major as she ended her campaign at Tied-22nd in the Ricoh Women's British Open. A flawless four-under 68 helped Aditi Ashok record her best-ever finish in a Major as she ended her campaign at Tied-22nd in the Ricoh Women’s British Open.

The 20-year-old Indian finally found some rhythm in her game this week as she produced a bogey-free round that included a hat-trick of birdies from sixth to eighth and a fourth one on 16th. Her earlier rounds were 72, 72 and 73 and she totalled three-under 285. Aditi’s previous best at a Major was T-29 at the 2017 Women’s PGA Championships.

A ‘Major’ record for Anirban Lahiri!

Lahiri on a roll

India’s Anirban Lahiri is increasingly gaining accolades and setting new milestones. By teeing off at next week’s PGA Championship, Anirban Lahiri will become the Indian with the most number of appearances in major championships - 50. He goes past Jeev Milkha Singh’s record of playing in most majors by an Indian.

Also, the Golf legend is up 15 places from 108 after finishing tied 6th in WGC Bridgestone Invitational in Akron. That makes him in the top 100 list too! Now that’s incredible!

Gritty Gaganjeet Bhullar bounces back to win the Fiji International

A ‘never-give-up’ attitude propelled Gaganjeet Bhullar to ride the crest of success at Fiji International. His self-determination, grit and class turned out to be an irresistible potion for his opponent Anthony Qauyle as Bhullar cruised his way to the incredible victory. Now, he is the first Indian to win straight nine Asian Tour titles.

With this, gritty Bhullar is up 49 places from 163 after winning the Fiji International on the European and Asian Tours.

Rahil Gangjee clinched the Louis Philippe Cup

India’s two-time Asian Tour winner Rahil Gangjee scripted success as he won the $75,000 Louis Philippe Cup golf tournament with a stunning 7-under 63 final round at Prestige Golfshire Club here on Friday.

Gangjee started the final day of the Asian Development Tour (ADT) and PGTI co-sanctioned event in tied-fifth position, and four shots behind overnight leaders Udayan Mane and Rashid Khan. The Bengaluru-based Gangjee (11-under 269) scripted an incredible comeback to win by three strokes, and the $13,125 winner’s cheque.

This was Gangjee’s second title of the year after his Panasonic Open victory in Japan earlier this year. Now Gangjee is up 96 places from 422!
