Singh maintains lead at Talent Search Championship

DAY 1

June 3rd 2015, Gurgaon, India: Chandigarh lad Kartik Digvijay Singh shot his second consecutive even-par round as he extended his lead to two strokes at the halfway stage of the TGF SRF North Zone Talent Search Golf Championship being played here at the Golden Greens Golf & Country Club.

Kartik dropped three strokes over his first nine holes having teed off from the 10th hole with bogeys on the 13th, 15th and the 18th holes. However, he got back to even par with a birdie on the 3rd hole and a superb eagle on the par 5 5th hole. He went to one-over for the week with a three putt bogey on the sixth hole before a birdie on his closing hole for a back nine (front nine of the golf course) 33.

Shubham Narain moved into second place with a second successive one-over par 73 to be placed two strokes behind the leader while Manav Bais is placed third a further two strokes behind. The day’s best card was brought in by Delhi Golf Club’s Rohil Khan who shot a one-under par 71 to move in to the fourth place overall.

Category C Boys is led by Tushar Pannu who carded a five-over 77 for a three stroke lead over the trio of Hargobind Singh, Saivikrama Angrish and Karan Gautam.

Diksha Dagar took control of the Girls Category A&B event with a spectacular even-par 72 which included as many as six birdies and a triple bogey on the par 5 11th hole. She leads by a massive thirteen strokes over the rest of the field with two rounds to play.
