Come July and the Carnoustie Golf Links in Angus, Scotland will be action-packed. The 147th Open will feature the crème de la crème Golfers from all over the globe. From Thailand, there will be three Golfers who are ready to pack a punch at the much-coveted event.

Promising talent Jazz Janewattananond of Thailand will brace himself for new challenges when he makes his debut appearance at The 147th Open at Carnoustie in July.

The 22-year-old Jazz, who earned the coveted berth by finishing tied-fourth at The Open Qualifying Series at the SMBC Singapore Open in January, is excited to make his first Major appearance at the venue where he watched his idol Tiger Woods in action in 2007.

“My father brought me to watch Tiger at Carnoustie when I was around 10 years old so earning my Major debut to play at the same venue this year makes me feel really special. It has been a long journey since.

“I’m just trying to gather as many information as I can before I head there. It’s going to be a different kind of golf tournament for sure. I have never played there before so I need to expect the unexpected and go there with an open mind and see what I can do,” said Jazz.

Kiradech Aphibarnrat

His maiden victory was the 2013 Maybank Malaysian Open and two years later he added the Shenzhen International in China. Late last season lost by one first to Tyrrell Hatton in the Italian Open and then to Jon Rahm at the DP World Tour Championship in Dubai, which lifted him to a career-best 11th on the Race to Dubai rankings.

He was previously known as Anujit Hirunratanakorn, but as is not uncommon in his homeland his family decided to change his name for good luck. In his early teens, he was twice an age group winner at the Junior World Championships before turning professional in 2008. Helped Asia beat Europe in the 2012 Royal Trophy and in 2016 finished joint fifth at the Olympic Games and joint 15th on his debut at The Masters.

Danthai Boonma

In 2016, Danthai enjoyed four top-10s, including two tied third finishes at the King’s Cup in Thailand and Mercuries Taiwan Masters and a runner-up finish at the BANK BRI-JCB Indonesia Open. He underlined his potential by winning the 2015 World Classic Championship at Laguna National in Singapore in his rookie season.

He made a strong start to his professional career by finishing tied-fourth at the 2014 King’s Cup after turning professional earlier that week. He is also a double gold medallist at the 2012 South East Asia (SEA) Games.

Boonma added, "I am very happy and proud of qualifying for The Open, which is my first major championship. I am looking forward to the challenge and experience of playing Carnoustie."
