About me: A professional Golfer, I lead the Indian Golf team for the Nomura Cup 2001, one of the most prestigious events played in China. A member of the Indian Golf team from 1998 to 2004, I was also the Captain of Team India for the World Amateur Championship in Puerto Rico (USA) in October 2004 and many International events. Lead the national Golf team in 2004 where India defeated Pakistan in 2004. Have been on the advisory board for Sport development of CIDCO and currently sit on the MGA (Maharashtra Golf Association), and Poona Club Committee for the past several years.
What inspired me to take up Golf: I took it up more as default as I had some time post class ten and my dad who is a keen Golfer pushed me to take up the sport. And I did so enthusiastically.
Dream Golf moments: Certainly winning the national team game in Pakistan 2004, where I lead the Indian team. To hoist the tricolour in Pakistan was one of the memorable days as a Golfer that included representing the country. The then President and Commande- in-chief of the Armed Forces gave me a memorable gift.
Winning the southern India championships and holding off Shiv Kapur who had just won the Gold at the Asian games in 2004 was yet another dream Golf moment.
One thing I would like to change about Golf: I certainly feel that more people should get to play the game more as the exposure in our country is limited.
My favourite Golf superstition: None really as I learned in life the when you let your mind believe in things anything is possible. I was never a gifted player but had a very sharp mind and hence achieved more with limited technique. Now things have changed - everyone has a better technique and the stronger ones mentally prevail.
