Hideki Matsuyama could probably feel the Adrenaline Rush when he stood at the first tee on Sunday at The Augusta National, Georgia. This eustress of clinging to the 1st rung of the leaderboard made him achieve the honor of donning the Green Masters Jacket. His arms were inside the long green sleeves of the Masters’ Jacket, as he thrusts them in the air.
Hideki Matsuyama's Career highlights at the PGA Tour
After a decade he made a sterling debut as the best amateur at the Masters. The 29-year old Japanese golfer lifted the title at the Masters 2021 and claimed an ultimate prize by creating the history.
Whether he's Japan's greatest player is not his concern. "However, I'm the first to win a major," he said through his interpreter. "And if that's the bar, then I've set it."
He took a 4-shot lead and stayed in heavy contention with the top 4 players from the time he hit his opening tee shot into the trees and back-to-back ballistic birdies that led to a 6-shot lead.

How the other players have fared?
Will Zalatoris
The 24-year-old Will Zalatoris finished 2nd in an attempt to become the first player to win his debut masters. He had hit the ground running by competing with some of the best golfers in the world. With all his efforts at the Masters, he is the only player with 4-under par rounds for the week.
Xander Schauffele
Xander had hit a triple bogey on the par-3 16th. With his spectacular performance on the greens of the Augusta National Golf Course, he has achieved his second top-3 finish at the Masters.
