Women’s Golf Day: Gritty Women who have Made an Impact in the Golfing Landscape

June 4- Today is the day to acknowledge and shine a light on some of the gutsy women golfers who are forging great paths to celebrate the strength of women everywhere. Here we bring you the 5 incredible women Golfers who have and are persistently inspiring the next generation with their skills.

She is the most unassuming of superstars. The winner of a record eight Player of the Year awards, and six Vare Trophies given to the LPGA player with the lowest seasonal scoring average, Annika Sorenstam is the only female golfer to shoot a 59 in competition. After winning eight times on the LPGA Tour in 2001, Sorenstam followed it up with an incredible 11 wins in 2003. In 2003, Sorenstam teed it up alongside the men at the PGA Tour's Colonial Tournament, making her the first woman to play in a Tour event since 1945.

Wie, who took the Golf world by storm by winning the US Women’s Open in 2014, is known for her sharpest and most sophisticated swing in Women’s Golf. The beautiful player believes that it’s feasible to be athletic and stylish at the same time.

Ariya Jutanugarn, 22, started breaking grounds long before she became the top-ranked female golfer in the world in 2017. She made the Honda LPGA Thailand tournament in 2001 at age 11, the youngest ever to qualify for an event. She was the first Thai player, male or female, to win a "major" golf event, at the 2016 Women's British Open. Jutanugarn, who goes by the nickname "May", was the second-youngest in LPGA history to reach the number one ranking.

Sharmila Nicollet is and will always remain as a personification for true inspiration even after she steps off the greens.  From making the right noises on the greens to speeding up heartbeats, the glamorous golfer, who comes as a ferociously competitive player, has done it all and with aplomb!  The Indo-French player became the youngest Indian golfer to qualify for the Ladies European Tour.
