The 56th edition of the Indian Open will be held at the DLF Golf & Country Club in Delhi from February 17-20, 2022, according to the DP World Tour (previously the European Tour). The event will be held at the DLF venue for the fourth year in a row. The DP World tour has just given the announcement a few days back related to the same.

In addition, the event has been pushed back one week. The dates were originally set for February 24-27. The event being held earlier in February will also provide much-needed relief for international players who suffer from the Indian heat in March and April. Now they don’t have to suffer from the excessive calefaction waves.
Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, the European Tour did not schedule the Hero Indian Open in 2020-2021. Naturally, holding the event on these dates is contingent on foreign players' desire to come to India, existing travel constraints, and the state of the Omicron version, which is now racing across Europe and the United States.Apart from this, omicron infections are multiplying across Europe, the United States and Asia, including in Japan, where a single cluster of COVID-19 cases which can be proved as the trouble to the sponsors of the event. However, it's good that they have scheduled the tour on prior dates.

If the event takes place, Hero MotoCorp will be the principal sponsor for the 15th year in a row. Hero MotoCorp is the world's largest motorcycle and scooter manufacturer, as well as one of the world's leading corporate promoters of multi-disciplinary sports.
The Indian Golf Union (IGU) hosts the Hero Indian Open, which was first held in 1964. SSP Chawrasia, the last Indian pro to win it, did it in 2016 and 2017.
