Investing in a golf real estate property and building a beautiful abode around a spectacular Golf course is a dream come true for many. The prestige and exclusivity Golf real estate properties offer is matchless and gives a wonderful residential value. Happiness knew bounds when a couple — Eric and Athina Tenczar — living in Massachusetts, America, bought their dream house near a sprawling, lush green golf course.
Investing in golf real estate is no mean feat but they were delighted that they could do so. However, their joy was short-lived when they found around 700 stray golf balls wrecked their lovely abode over a period of time. There were times when they stray golf balls hit the windows of the house and sometimes they would land on their magnificent lawn. Unfortunately, the couple never imagined that investing in golf real estate properties could be a nightmare for them.
According to media sources, they felt helpless in solving the issue after a lot of effort and then they decided to take the matter to the court through a lawyer.
“There's 26 windows that need to be replaced," the lawyer, Robert Galvin, said. "The entire siding of the home has to be replaced. There are portions of the deck that were damaged that need to be fixed. This was so extremely upsetting to them and they were so completely powerless to really fix the problem," Galvin said.”
In a fair judgement, Plymouth Superior Court ordered the country club to pay the family a whopping 37 crores in compensation for their emotional agony and the physical damage caused by the golf balls. Now, that’s a huge amount. Life on a golf real estate property can get really more interesting, isn’t it? What do you think?
