South Korea's Bi-o Kim snatched the clubhouse lead on day 2nd as well of the Laguna Phuket Championship after firing an impressive 7 birdies and a bogey and one double bogey but after that he recovered it well on Friday.
"My form is actually in very good shape... So hopefully next couple of rounds I will keep going and maybe, maybe, at the end, I'm holding something," Kim said.
Udayan Mane, olympian, bounced back from missing the cut last week by shooting a +4 under 66 in the opening round of the Laguna Phuket Championship, tying for 55th place. Veer Ahlawat (67) joined him in Tied-6th place, seeking to expand on his Top-10 finish last week. Mane, who started with two birdies, 2 bogeys and 3+bogeys the Par+4 . Veer Ahlawat, who finished T-8 in the first of the two Phuket Series events, is more consistent, with 7 birdies to two bogeys and 1 double bogey. Shiv Kapur, who had a fantastic start last week, was one shot behind them with a 3-under 68. Tied-64 was his name. In his round of 74 at +4, Kapur had 1birdie, 3 bogeys and 1 double bogey which is down than yesterday’s performance.
One birdie and an eagle helped the 26-year-old ,Thailand's Chanachok Dejpiratanamongkol, finishing the round 2 on a goodmark, which is a tough score and he is in the continuous race of maintaining himself in the top 3.
Kim tied for fourth place in the Blue Canyon Phuket Championship last week.
The $1 million tournament this week on the popular vacation island is the second Asian Tour event since the Malaysian Open in March 2020.
Kim won the LG Signature Players Championship on the Korean PGA Tour earlier this month, making it his sixth triumph on home soil.
