Indian golfer Diksha Dagar finished strong with a five-under 68 on the last day of the Magical Kenya Ladies Open, landing her in the top 20 on Sunday. Diksha, who ranked third on the LET Order of Merit in 2023, ended tied at 19th place with a total score of 292 over four days.

Pranavi Urs, initially in contention at tied-eighth after three rounds, stumbled to a three-over 76 in the final round, settling for T-23rd. Meanwhile, Vani Kapoor scored a 73, placing her at T-36 in the opening event of the 2024 Ladies European Tour (LET).

A remarkable highlight of the event was Singapore's 19-year-old Shannon Tan, making her LET debut, who clinched victory by four shots, becoming the first female professional golfer to win on the Tour. Playing at the Vipingo Ridge, Tan, also the first Singaporean on the LET, secured a historic debut victory with a score of 12-under 280.

Tan shared the lead with Italian Alessandra Fanali at 9-under after three rounds, but Tan's impressive 3-under 70 on the final day secured her victory, with Fanali finishing four shots behind after carding a 74.

Diksha showcased a strong performance with five birdies on the back nine of the course and one more birdie along with a bogey on her second nine. Pranavi had a mixed day with an eagle, two birdies, five bogeys, and a double bogey in her final round 76, slipping down to Tied 23rd on the leaderboard. Vani Kapoor recorded two birdies and two bogeys.

Shannon Tan's journey to professional success began when she won the Singapore Ladies event after receiving a special invite from Lyn Yeo, former president of the Singapore Ladies Golf Association. Tan's remarkable victory sparked her Olympic dream, leading her to quit college at Texas Tech University to pursue a professional career.

Tan earned her LET card through a top-20 finish at the Lalla Aicha Q-School last December, marking only her third professional event. She secured a second-place finish in a mixed event at the Webex Players Series' Murray River in New South Wales in January and placed eighth at the Vic Open in Australia. Tan's debut win on the LET secures her card until the end of 2026, solidifying her status as a rising star in the golfing world.
