Here on Sunday, at USD 400,000 Bangabandhu Cup Golf Bangladesh Open, India’s karandeep Kochhar had shot an amazing 6-under 65 to grab his hands on the 4th position at the tournament. He tied with Bangladesh’s Rahman S and Thailand’s Saksansin P and A. Winaicharoenchai . He got $15,280.00 as his winning amount.

In the event the purse was set for $400,000 with the winner’s share coming in at $72,000, which is equivalent to the standard 18 percent payout according to the Asian Tour’s prize money distribution. The120-player field took place from November 24 2022 to November 27 2022 at Kurmitola Golf Club in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
Many world’s best players were the participants in the tournament including David Puig, SSP Chawrasia , Miguel Tabuena etc. 

Kochhar’s final round had six birdies and an excellent eagle on 14th.  Among all his four rounds , he scored the best in the fourth round, while he got 2-over 73 in the first round , followed by a Par-71 in the second round and 3-under 68 in the third round. It seemed that 14th proved to be the best hole for this golfer from Punjab as he got both his eagles at 14th in round 3 and round 4.

It was Kochhar’s best Asian Tour result outside India, after his tied second at Panasonic Open India in 2017. He also got one of his winnings for this season on the Indian PGTI tour. Although he doesn’t have any Asian Tour wins so far. 
2018 was the year when Karandeep Kochhar first had a swing on Asian Tour and 2022 became the year when he showcased his caliber of standing in Top-20 two times at the International Series Thailand and The DGC Open in India. He has recorded three wins on the professional Golf Tour of India and concluded second on that Order of Merit in 2021. 

Veer Ahlawat

Another Indian who stood in the spotlight in the Top-10 was Veer Ahlawat who finished tied eighth. He won $8,245.00 in Dhaka. He finished his final round with one-over 72 hitting 5 bogeys and 4 birdies. His luck was not in mood during the second round and specifically in the front nine as he hit a double bogey on the 3rd.

Veer is also a one-time winner on the Professional Golf Tour of India, grabbing the trophy at the PGTI- Masters Golf 2019. He has 4 top-10 finishes on the Asian Tour in his account. 

Three Indians — SSP Chawrasia (67), Aman Raj (70) and Khalin Joshi (71) finished in tied 22nd place .

In the Meantime, Thailand’s Danthai Boonma snared the title after a fascinating contest with Kosuke Hamamoto who was the runner-up at Kurmitola Golf Club. Danthai fired a closing three-under par 68 at Dhaka. The winner got $72,000.00.
