Tracking Tiger's fall

image
Posted by Anirudh Chandra 31 Mar 2015

The release of the latest updates to the World Golf Rankings on Monday served to further demonstrate how far Tiger Woods has fallen.

The former world number one golfer now sits in 104th position in the world rankings, the first time he has slipped outside the top 100 since 1996.

Injury, off-course troubles and a loss of form have all contributed to a golfer who used to appear bulletproof now appearing to be something of a wounded animal.

After taking time off at the end of 2009 and into 2010 following the break-up of his marriage and some unfortunate revelations regarding his private life, Woods bounced back strongly. The American worked his way back to third in the world at the end of 2012 and once again reached the summit by the end of 2013.

However, Woods has once again fallen down the pecking order - and it's no surprise either considering he's barely finished a tournament in the past year - and it's hard to see him getting back up to the top.

Woods' ranking is of course an overall reflection of his results, and they certainly don't make for pretty reading...

No chance. Spent commodity. Possibly getting out of practice/touch.
