January 20th 2010, Singapore: World number seven Paula Creamer today confirmed her return to the third edition of the HSBC Women’s Champions which takes place from 25 – 28 February 2010 at the Tanah Merah Country Club (TMCC).

The American sensation who has eight LPGA victories to her name and has played in the tournament since its inaugural year will be looking to better her performance in “Asia’s Major” where she has finished third in both 2008 and 2009.

Creamer said, “I have really enjoyed the past two editions of the HSBC Women’s Champions and am ready to head back to Singapore and try to improve on my previous third place finishes.”

“It is a great event to be a part of. HSBC is such a terrific company and as a result we are looked after so well. The fans being fan..tastic along with the level of competition being top notch, make it a really exciting week.”

Creamer has earned at least US$1 million every season since her rookie year (2005), and in 2009 the ‘Pink Panther,’ although battling illness and injury most of the year, recorded ten top-ten finishes without a victory. Paula will be keen to get back to her winning ways on familiar territory early in the new season.

HSBC is delighted on the confirmation of Paula Creamer and Giles Morgan, Global Head of Sponsorship commented, “The HSBC Women’s Champions features the top female golfers in the world and Paula’s fantastic achievements firmly establish her in that bracket . We are thrilled that she is participating in the tournament and look forward to her superb play on the course come February 25.”

Robbie Henchman, Senior Vice President of the tournament promoters IMG, added, “The LPGA Season is about to begin and we are ecstatic that Paula Creamer will be competing at the HSBC Women’s Champions once again this year. She has always been a crowd favourite and we are sure fans will come out to catch her in action.”

A total of 63 players will tee-off for four days of stroke play at TMCC. Along with two sponsors invites, the field will be completed by the winning Singaporean amateur or professional of a two-day local qualifying tournament taking place at TMCC today and tomorrow (20-21 Jan 2010). In 2008, Amelia Yong represented the host country and fourteen year old Joey Poh had the honour in 2009.
