In a historic moment for Indian golf, three young Indian female golfers have successfully advanced from Stage 1 to Stage 2 of the challenging LPGA Qualifying series in the United States. This achievement marks a significant milestone in the sport's history in India. Pranavi Urs from Mysore, Sneha Singh from Hyderabad, and Sharmila Nicollet, who is based in Orlando, will all be competing for LPGA Tour playing privileges in the upcoming Stage 2, scheduled from October 17th to 20th in Florida.

Pranavi Urs finished tied-36th at the Qualifier

Sneha and Pranavi both posted impressive scores of 4-under 284, securing a tied 36th position out of 304 players vying for 95 available spots in Stage 2. In contrast, Sharmila Nicollet finished at 1-over 289, placing her in a tied 89th position.

Unfortunately, former Bangalorean golfer Nikita Arjun missed the 54-hole cut by a heartbreaking one stroke.

The next stage, Stage II, in Florida, will see the top 30 and ties advancing to the final qualifying stage set in Alabama from November 30th to December 5th, 2023, featuring six rounds (108 holes) of competition.

Sneha Singh finished tied-36th at the Qualifier

During the final qualifier, players will compete for a $150,000 prize purse, which will be awarded to the top 45 and ties. The field will include players ranking between 101-150 (and ties) on the LPGA Points List for the current year, as well as players ranking 11-35 (and ties) from the Epson Tour. Additionally, spots will be allocated to players in the top 75 of the Rolex Women's World Golf Rankings, along with the top 10 and ties from the Ladies European Tour. Based on the current standings.

Diksha Dagar is in line for automatic entry into the final qualifier, as she currently holds the third position in the Race to Costa del Sol.

In contrast, Aditi Ashok has had a remarkable season on the LPGA tour and has already secured her playing rights in the United States for 2024.

Following the final qualifier, the top 20 and ties will earn full LPGA Tour playing privileges for the 2024 season. Players finishing between positions 21 and 45 (and ties) will secure conditional 2024 LPGA Tour status but will also have full playing rights on the 2024 Epson Tour. Players outside the top 45 will earn partial Epson Tour playing rights. This marks a significant opportunity for these talented Indian golfers to make their mark on the international stage.
