WRITTEN BY - AKSH GUPTA

At just 15 years oldKartik Singh has emerged as a beacon of hope and talent in Indian golf, capturing the attention of enthusiasts and professionals alike. His recent performance at the International Series India, where he became the youngest Indian to make the cut in an Asian Tour event, is a testament to his dedication and skill.

Early Life and Introduction to Golf

Born in Kochi, India, Kartik's tryst with golf began at the tender age of six. Accompanying his father Captain Dhananjay Kumar Singh (Retired) to the Navy Golf Course ignited a passion that would shape his future. His innate talent was evident from the outset, impressing coaches and peers alike.

Balancing Academics and Golf

Kartik is currently enrolled in the Ontario Virtual School, Northern Pre-University in Canada, which allows him to balance academics with his rigorous training schedule. This flexible educational setup ensures he can focus on both his studies and golf career without compromise.

Rise in the Golfing World

Kartik's journey is dotted with significant milestones:

  •  Youngest player to represent India at the Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship in Melbourne, Australia.
  •  Winner of the IMG Academy World Championship 2024 in San Diego.
  • One of the top junior golfers globally, competing in elite tournaments across continents.

Historic Performance at the International Series India

Competing at the DLF Golf and Country Club in Gurugram, Kartik showcased remarkable composure, carding a one-under-par 71 to comfortably make the cut. Sharing the course with luminaries like Bryson DeChambeau and Anirban Lahiri, he held his own, proving his potential to compete at the highest level.

Tournament Schedule for 2025: A Packed Year Ahead

Kartik’s 2025 calendar is shaping up to be one of the busiest seasons of his career. Since his 15th birthday on January 5, he has already played four consecutive tournaments, logging 19 rounds in 17 days. His schedule includes:

February – Representing India in South Africa for two open amateur events.

March – Competing in the Junior Invitational at Sage Valley, also known as the Junior Masters.

Summer (U.S.) – Playing in prestigious AJGA invitationals, including:

  • U.S. Junior Amateur
  • Junior PGA Championship
  • Junior Players Championship
  • Rolex Tournament of Champions

Late 2025 – Competing in select amateur events in India.

With such an action-packed schedule, Kartik is proving that he’s ready to take on the world stage.

Future Aspirations: The Road to the PGA Tour

Looking ahead, Kartik’s ultimate goal is to compete on the PGA Tour. A potential stepping stone for him is collegiate golf in the U.S., where many of the world’s top professionals have honed their skills. With his current trajectory, he is well on his way to becoming one of India’s greatest golf exports.

A Star in the Making

Kartik Singh’s journey is a compelling narrative of passion, perseverance, and prodigious talent. As he continues to break barriers and set new benchmarks, the future of Indian golf shines brighter with his presence.

Keep an eye on this young prodigy—he's just getting started!
