In October, the DP World Tour, formerly known as the European Tour, disclosed its schedule for the 2024 season, reserved a significant slot labeled the "Asian swing," and this slot would host the Indian Open, scheduled for March 28-31 at DLF Golf & CC in Gurgaon.

After a three-year hiatus from 2020 to 2022 due to COVID-19 restrictions, the tournament returned to DLF GC in 2023, witnessing Marcel Siem from Germany secure victory.
The upcoming 57th edition of the tournament in 2024 will feature a prize money of US$2 million, with ongoing speculation about a possible enhancement.
As part of the revamped 2024 Race to Dubai, the Indian Open is positioned as the second event among the four events comprising the Asian Swing. Under this new format, each of the five Global Swings will have a distinct identity, and the Champion of each swing is eligible for a share of the $1 million Bonus Pool, with each winner receiving $200,000. Furthermore, these Swing Champions will qualify for the exclusive ‘Back 9’ events.
The Asian Swing will commence with the Singapore Classic from March 21-24, followed by the Indian leg, then moving to Korea for the Korea Championship, the ISPS HANDA – CHAMPIONSHIP in Japan, and concluding in China with the return of the Volvo China Open. The five 'Global Swings' are succeeded by the 'Back 9' events, culminating in the season finale with the 'DP World Tour Play-Offs.'
This development is anticipated to attract a stronger field of players to India, serving as a significant boost for Indian golf enthusiasts.
