About me: An avid
Golfer, I am a 1992 IAS batch officer and currently positioned as the Controller
General of Patents, Designs and Trademarks, India. Earlier, I was working as
the Chairman and Managing Director of the Maharashtra State Electricity
Distribution Co. Ltd.
I have also served as the Inspector General of Registration
& Controller of Stamps – Maharashtra, General Manager of Brihanmumbai
Electricity Supply and Transport, (BEST), Vice Chairman and Managing Director
of the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC), Collector of
Amravati & Satara, and as the Chief Executive Officer of Akola Zilla
Parishad during his 25 years in administrative service.
What inspired me to take Golf: In Pune, I attended a Golf
clinic and I liked the game so much so that I picked it up immediately. So, I
have been playing Golf (though I am not a regular one) since 2005.
Why I play Golf: Golf’s unhurriedly
pace allows for conversations to unfold and associations to be formed. The game is
a happy outcome at any stage of life. For me, Golf courses are a great place to
unwind, build new relationships and learn the nuances of team building.
Memorable Golf moment: Winning the Pune Leg of ICICI Masters.
