If you owned a team in Golf Rendezvous PRO-AM League, what would be your top priority?
Who was the First Golfer to achieve The Career Grand Slam?
About me: A professional Golfer, I am a fun-loving person and love a lot of adventures. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to do a lot of stuff that I want to do like explore different parts of Europe because of our tight schedule. But I would love to that in the future. I love music, dancing and reading. On a day when I am not Golfing, I do all these stuff. I love to sweat it out whether I am playing tournaments or not.
What inspired me to take up Golf: My dad is an Army officer and he inspired me to take Golf. He used to play every second day at a hill station called Landsdowne. I took it up as a hobby and seeing the kind of improvements I had in the very first year… I was a hard-working kid and I found some direction in life, I thought of taking it as a serious career option. Golf gave me a lot of peace and I enjoyed going to the Golf course after my hectic school hours, just practising and trying to get better at something. A lot of the push in Golf came from dad and I cannot thank him enough for the same.
Biggest Golfing achievement: Getting my Ladies European Tour Card in 2016 for the year 2017-18 was my biggest achievement. I couldn’t keep up my card due to a lot of reasons but I feel this year shooting a 10-under has been the best thing that has ever happened to me and then winning the tournament by 14 shots. It was kind of crazy and it has been one of the best golf tournaments that I have played till now. I also feel my biggest Golf achievement is still in the waiting but for now, I would vouch for these two.
Dream 4-ball: Annika Sörenstam, Tiger Woods, Henrik Stenson and me.
On Women’s Golf in India: It’s definitely on the rise. It might be a little slow but I have seen a lot of change in the last 10 years. When I started playing at the junior amateur circuit, there were 10 or 12 of us compared to 30-40 of them now in numbers. This is indeed a great great sign! When we talk about professional Golfers, we have Aditi, Sharmila, Smriti, Gursimar, Vani ..who are all doing well on the Indian tour as well as in the global circuit. Aditi has really changed the face of women’s Golf in India and most of us are now walking on her footsteps. I think in the years to come there will definitely be an Indian winner on the LPGA.
