Australian player Brendan Jones wins the New Zealand Open 2023

Thai star, Gunn Charoenkul finished the New Zealand Open 2023 on Asian Tour at a position of tied-6 while having a total score of 14-under ( 65, 69, 67, 69) standing four shots behind the leader, Brendan Jones from Australia who shot 18-under as a total score ( 69, 69, 62,66) to win the New Zealand Open on the Asian Tour.  He took the winning amount of USD 180,000.00.

Gunn was awarded a prize money of USD29,800.00 in the tournament. Thailand’s Gunn Charoenkul turned pro in 2011 who showed his consistent and impressive performance on both the Asian Tour and Japan Golf Tour by having 12 top-15 finishes in Japan in 2019 and five on the Asian Tour by the end of 2019. In 2020, he won on the Thailand PGA Tour at the Singha-SAT Hua Hin Championship as it was his first victory in 5 years and later he won the Singha -SAT Nakhon Nayok Classic. 

 


His recent win counts in International Series Qatar where he stood at the second place with a total score of 284 (71, 75, 70, 68) where he got an amount of USD 275,000.00 as the prize money.

Tied-2 were four players John Lyras from Australia (71, 62, 72, 64) , another australian Ben Campbell ( 68, 67, 68, 66) , Korean star Jaewoong Eom ( 67, 66, 69, 67) and Tomoyo Ikemura from Japan ( 65, 70, 66, 68) , where they got USD 64,376.00 respectively as the winning amount. 

 


Along with Gunn, other australian players who tied-6 were Thomas Power Horan (65, 69, 71, 65) , Michael Hendry ( 72, 65, 65, 68) , Amateur Kazuma Kobori (66, 67, 68, 69) and Rhein Gibson (67, 67, 66, 70) winning an amount of USD 29,800.00 respectively in the tournament.
