Tiger Woods steps down from the Hero World Challenge due to injuries.

Posted by Admin 29 Nov 2022

From one of his recent tweets, the world came to know that Golf Legend Tiger Woods has withdrawn from the Hero World Challenge which will be taking place this weekend from 1st December, 2022 till 4th December, 2022 at Albany, Bahamas.

The reason for his absence in the tournament is an  developed plantar fasciitis in his right foot in preparation for the event. Hearing this news, it made the fans and the organizers go into despair as they haven’t seen Woods in action after the Open Championship in July happened in St. Andrews. Tiger had a serious car crash in February 2021, where he got severe injuries to his right lower leg, prior to this he was seen riding a cart in The Match series in 2020.

However, the 15-time Major Champion ,Tiger will be present for the hosting section as it was supposed to be one of the three events where he endorsed himself to be a part of the same, till the end of the year.

"Two hours ago we were still confident that Tiger Woods was going to play this weekend. Then to see him put out a statement that he has got a problem...he will still be here as the host but we all are feeling a bit disappointed," said Martin Dempster, chairman of the Association of Golf Writers.

46- year old Tiger has made his way into the hearts of many people and along with that he has also played at Masters in Augusta. Age being one of the factors into many of his physical injuries , Tiger Woods has successfully gotten into the many tournaments and events including the US PGA Championship.

Skipping the event in the Bahamas is expected to affect Woods' official World Golf Ranking.

In his statement, Woods commented, he still planned on playing in next week’s The Match with Rory McIlroy, Justin Thomas and Jordan Spieth and the following week’s PNC Championship with his son Charlie
