Asian Golf Courses & Western Professional!

image

We have been covering professional golf for over 2 years now! What seems quiet interesting is that professional Golf players from the West do not seem to adapt to the conditions in Asia.

If we look at the Ballantine Championship, it surprises me to see Ian Poulter & Ernie Els missing the cut. Are the Asian Golf Course conditions very different the the western ones or is it the weather and the over all conditions which makes it difficult to quickly adapt. However, we can also see that most Indian players missed the cut too. If we look at the HOLE AVERAGES in the LIVE SCORING section, there is hole no. 10, 11 and 13 which have a score of over 15 double bogies in 2 days play alone. Clearly showing that the course is a tough one. If I was to compare the Hole Averages of the Panasonic Open at the DGC (Delhi Golf Course) .... the story is quiet similar.

Overall, my take would be that the combination of the difficult course conditions which could be tight fairways with all most NO rough in addition to location change/ jet lack could be the reason for TOP ranking players to perform under par.
