Bangkok, 20th August 2022: 4moles.com in partnership with Montien Hotel, Sealy Posturepedic and Harley Davidson announced the inaugural tournament of 2022, The Montien Hotel Golf Open 2022. In celebration of its homecoming, the tournament again hosted eminent golfers from the South-East Asia’s corporate amateur fraternity.

The Montien Hotel Golf Open 2022 featured a field of 120 golfers, including 45 Indian and 75 Amatuer Corporate  Thai golfers. The list included prominent professional and celebrity golfers holding Rolex Ranking. The tournament was played at the Alpine Golf Club, Bangkok, One of the finest members only golf course establishment in the province of Pathumthani Bangkok.

This year’s tournament welcomed back a remarkable line-up featuring the best golf talents locally and internationally. This tournament has been an important platform for the revival of tourism and the golf industry post a major set-back to the economy by Covid-19. To elevate the excitement, our partner brand Sealy Posturepedic announced a hole-in-one on the 3rd par-3 hole of the Alpine Golf Club with the prize worth THB 176,400, Active Momentum Collection bed set.

 

 

The Tournament was hosted with full excitement and enthusiasm on the special occasion of 15th August, India’s 75th Independence Day. The same marked a noteworthy occasion to showcase the friendship between India and Thailand. The 45 Indian guests travelled three days before the tournament to enjoy the Amazing Thailand’s hospitality with a stay at the Montien Hotel Surawong and practise round at the Riverdale Golf Club.

 

Golf Tourism has always been a close connect for Thailand; the country which boasts of having few of South-east Asia’s finest Golf courses. To celebrate this occasion we had Mr. Vachirachai Sirisumpan, Director Tourism Authority of Thailand, New Delhi Office and Mr. Montien Tanttakit, Managing Director, Montien Group of Hotels to felicitate the winners.

Along with the booth to provide golfer's with the experiential comfort zone, Sealy also sponsored multiple prizes and giveaways.

The Tournament witnessed an amazing tee off session, skill prizes, lucky draw prizes and more, in partnership with Harley-Davidson Thailand. The brand's mission - “More than building machines, we stand for the timeless pursuit of adventure. Freedom for the soul” complimented the essence of the tournament. The brand spiced up the golfers expectation with Harley-Davidson Patches and Pins as a unique memento along-with the Experiential Bike setup on Hole 12. The tournament witnessed the presence of  Harley-Davidson Motor Company, Mr. Sajeev Rajasekharan, Managing Director Asia Emerging markets & India, boosting the ethos of the golfers, alongside Mr. Imran Qadri, Head Marketing & PR, Asia emerging markets & India, and Mr. Samarth Airon, Marketing Lead.

The tournament gathered 120 players in three main categories: Category A (0-9 handicap), Category B (10-18 handicap), Category C (18 and above handicap). The format  of play was decided to be Double Peoria with stable ford scoring. The event had 15 main prizes to elevate the excitement amongst the golfers from all categories.

 

  • In Category A, Mr. Toosaporn  (THA) won the first position with Mr. Halmi Salim (THA) seizing the Runner Up position.

 

  • In Category B, Mr. Kasemsan Wannawanakom (THA)  secured the first position with Mr. Ranjeet Kakkad (IND) finishing in the runner up position. 

 

  • The final Category C round witness Mr. Thalengchai (THA) winning the first position with Mr. Kattiya Rojanatrekoon (THA) securing the runner-up position.

 

 

  • In the Individual Nett Category, Mr. Tarav Bhadwar (IND) with the score of 79, alongside Mr. Nattachai (THA) with the score of 78.

 

  • To mark the  essence of the Independence Day the Thai-India Team category (3-ball) witnessed, Ms. Woranun Thaworanun (THA)Mr. PK Singh (IND) and Mr. Phraipana Phectiang (THA) celebrated the victory together!

 

  • The Overall Low Gross trophy was lifted by Mr. Boonthum Nupud (THA) registering the 1st Position with the gross score of 70.

 

  • No activity is complete with a slight scope of improvement. Mr. Worawut Lamatipanont (THA) hit a birdie with a Boo Bee trophy to mark the spirit of golf with a smile. 

 

 

  • Besides, multiple players received special skill prizes for their exceptional performance, including Ms. Atitaya Kunnalaphat (THA) for the Harley-Davidson Nearest to the LineMr. Boonthum Nupud (THA) for the Sealy Closest to Line, while Mr. Colonel K Anil Kumar (IND) bagged the Amazing Thailand nearest to the line prize.

 

The tournament reflects 4moles.com, Montien Group of Hotel, Sealy and Harley-Davidsons appreciation to patrons of the luxury brand and was designed to create an interactive community sports event that brings people together to celebrate the values and ethos of the brand known for excellenace, luxury and quality.
