Mastercard presents The DGC Open 2023 - DAY 1

Bangladeshi golfer, Siddikur Rahman played 7-under 65 concluding his first day with a bogey free round at the Delhi Golf Club. Standing at the top of the leaderboard he accounted for 7 birdies and parred the rest. While talking to 4moles.com he said, “I am quite satisfied with my performance today and I am doing really well along with my putting skills”. He also talked about the fields saying, “ the layout is the same as before, the greens are a little difficult but I liked these greens more than before. I have also been working on my techniques, fitness and my mental training and it is working down very comfortably.”

Rashid Khan picked up pace on his last 9th with a great birdie putt. He parred all the holes on the back nine and finished his day with three consecutive birdies on 7th, 8th and 9th. Concluding the first day of the DGC Open presented by Mastercard he Tied-2 with 5-under 67. He was all confident on the 9th. 

 


Defending Championship Nitithorn Thippong from Thailand tied-2 after completing his first round at the DGC Open 2023 presented by Mastercard. Studying the greens well, he birdied the 1st and got bogey on the next. He parred four consecutive holes on to the next. The defending champion is all set to defend his title this year as well. He hit a bogey free back nine in the first round of the tournament. He scored 5-under 67 by the end of the first round.

The leaderboard carried the name of a golfer from the Philippines, Justin Quiban during the start of the day but later he got down to Tied-2.  He got onto the eaderboard on the first day of the DGC Open 2023 presented by Mastercard as some of his great shots came on the day where he parred all the holes on the front nine getting all the greens well except missing two of them on 2nd and 4th. 
English golfer Matt Killen tied-5 with another Indian golfer Chikkarangappa S. Matt got a better hold on the back nine of the first round as he went bogey free in that round. He got three birdies on 1st, 3rd and 6th until he dropped two consecutive bogeys on 8th and 9th. Whereas the Indian star Chikkarangappa seemed delighted with his fellow three balls, Rahman and Yuvraj Singh Sandhu. 

 


Amateur Yuvraj Singh completed his first round at the DGC Open 2023 with 3-under 69. Hitting 6 birdies and three bogeys, he got seven hits landing on the greens on the front nine. With fellow Indian golfer , Om Prakash Chouhan tied-11 with Yuvraj with a bogey free round until 15th as he got a bogey on 16th. He accounted for a score of 3-under 69 by the end of the first round.

Indian Origin, Varun Chopra from the USA tied-5 on the first day of the event. He said he enjoyed his birdie shot on the 11th and was looking forward to more such shots in the coming days of the tournament taking place at Delhi Golf Club.
