Bryson DeChambeau took charge on day one at The Masters, leading the pack with a remarkable 65 amidst challenging weather conditions. Despite gusty winds and morning storms causing a delay of two and a half hours, DeChambeau's powerful strokes navigated the course admirably, underscoring his dominance on the greens.

Following closely behind DeChambeau was Scottie Scheffler, who continued to exhibit his exceptional form by carding a smooth 66, finishing just one stroke behind the leader.
Meanwhile, Rory McIlroy and Jon Rahm faced their own challenges on the course. McIlroy, after a sluggish start, rallied to sign for a respectable 71, showcasing his resilience and determination to contend for the title. However, Rahm, the defending champion, encountered difficulties towards the end of his round, finishing at one-over after consecutive bogeys on the final two holes.

Amidst the competition, there were notable surprises and struggles. Danny Willett, the 2016 Masters champion, returned to competitive play following shoulder surgery with a commendable round of 68, hinting at a potential resurgence on the iconic Georgia course. Conversely, veteran player Tiger Woods, aiming for his sixth green jacket despite physical discomfort, displayed his trademark grit and determination to stay in contention with a solid start to his campaign.

As the day drew to a close, the focus shifted towards the projected cut line, with several players teetering on the edge of qualification for the weekend rounds. Notable names like Jordan Spieth and Zach Johnson faced uncertainty, while others, like Peter Malnati, found themselves struggling to stay afloat.
With the cut line currently set at one-over, the pressure intensified for players hovering around the threshold. Phil Mickelson, Jon Rahm, and Dustin Johnson all found themselves in precarious positions, needing strong performances to secure their places in the next round. Despite the challenges, the allure of making the cut and competing for the prestigious green jacket spurred players on.
Despite uncertainties, DeChambeau and Scheffler lead confidently, leaving contenders to chase them into the weekend rounds at Augusta National.
