THE MASTERS Tournament 2024 - Day 2

Posted by Admin 13 Apr 2024

The top spot at The Masters is currently shared by Scottie Scheffler, Bryson DeChambeau, and Max Homa, all sitting at six under par. Despite challenging conditions at Augusta National, Scheffler maintained his position with a disciplined even-par round. DeChambeau, who led after an impressive 65 on Thursday, slipped to a one-over-par 73 with a bogey on the last hole, joining Homa who shot a solid one-under-par 71 to match the clubhouse lead.

Max Homa

In the chase, Nicolai Hojgaard from Denmark displayed grit, carding a spirited 73 to finish at four under par. Following closely are Australia's Cameron Davis and Collin Morikawa, a two-time major winner, both at three under par.

Scottie Scheffler

Rory McIlroy's pursuit of ending his decade-long major drought suffered a setback with a disappointing birdie-less round of 77, leaving him well behind the leaders. Defending champion Jon Rahm also faced challenges, posting a four-over-par 76, which put him significantly back in the field at the halfway stage.

Tiger Woods

Meanwhile, Tiger Woods, despite limited competitive play due to last year's ankle surgery, made history by making his 24th consecutive cut at Augusta. Woods, expressing unwavering confidence in his ability to secure a sixth green jacket and 16th major title, emphasized the physical toll each shot takes but remains determined to contend for another Masters victory. His perseverance and drive continue to captivate fans and fellow competitors alike.
